Hello peeps how have you been doing?
So much has been going on around the world – and that’s all I’m saying.
For the longest time I’ve noticed my 12 year old daughter telling me that I need to get rid of some of my belongings – does this resonate with you?
She reckons I have way too many items of clothes, shoes, handbags, makeup – to name a few.
How does a lover of nice things just get rid of her stuff? I may need these items one day after I’ve gotten rid of them!!!
Even though I haven’t used a large proportion of most of the things I own – to be honest, I can’t even remember some of the things I own. To make matters worse, I often struggle to find some items I really love.
Talk of less of even using them in the last 6 – 12 months. First rule of decluttering.
Not only does she encourage me to get rid of some items, she leads by example.
Does this make her a minimalist? I guess it does.
Thank you baby for starting me on this journey of not only clearing my physical and mental clutter, but also the avoidance of becoming a borderline hoarder(anyone watch these programmes about hoarders on TV? Scary )- I love you baby for educating me.
We can all learn from others- young or old.
I plan to put this into practice in every possible area of my life. Wish me luck as it’s going to be a struggle, which I’m hell bent on achieving.
The kitchen cupboards are sorted😃. Nail polishes are done. Makeup💄 is almost sorted. The loft was a big one. Years of keeping nonsense that I knew I’d never ever use. Some shoes and handbags have already gone to good homes. I still need to get rid of more. Onto the hair products next. The clothes are going to be a big challenge😢. Then the rest of the house will follow.
The thing is – this exercise is so liberating, I wish I’d started a long time ago – perhaps when I decided to chop off all of my permed hair.
Until next time, keep ☺.
